Extraction Description	Scent Description
The volatile oil obtained by the steam distillation of the dried brown nut of the tree, after the shells are broken and discarded.	Sweet warm-spicy scent.

General Description

Nutmeg Essential Oil. A natural flavouring. Used in alcoholic & soft drinks. Great to vapourise with orange and clove, especially during winter nights. Tones the body. Strengthens resistance to cold. Traditionally used in pomanders (e.g. oranges with cloves and dusted in nutmeg.)

Historical Background

Used for centuries as mainly a remedy for digestive and kidney problems. Grated nutmeg mixed with lard for piles!

Properties

Stimulating, comforting, warming. Relieves mental fatigue.

Base Products

camphene, pinene, dipentene, sabinene, cymene, borneol, geraniol, linalol, eugenol, terpineol, safrol, myristicin.

Safety

DILUTE TO 5% OR LESS IN A CARRIER OIL BEFORE SKIN APPLICATION. KEEP OUT OF EYES. DO NOT SWALLOW.
