Citrus aurantium dulcis Peel Oil
The orange tree was originally a native of the Far East, particularly China and India. It was not used medicinally in Europe until the late 17th century, as it was rare and expensive. In Chinese medicine the dried peel is used to treat coughs, colds and anorexia.
'Despite its obvious overlapping with Neroli, Orange has quite a definite character of its own, reflecting the difference you might expect between the flower oil and that from the fruit, for the oil of the Orange is warmer and more rounded in aroma, with a feeling of jollity about it. It seems to carry with it some of the sunshine needed for its ripening, and for this reason is a wonderful oil to use in the winter. It blends well with almost any of the spice oils: Cinnamon, Nutmeg or Clove expecially, and also, surprisingly with Lavender and Frankincense.' - An excerpt from Aromatherapy an A - Z by Patricia Davis.

'Nervous Tension - Add Marjoram, Orange and Ylang Ylang to a bath. Add Marjoram, Orange, Melissa to a light ring or essential oil diffuser.' - an excerpt from Aromatherapy Simply For You by Marion Del Gaudio Mak.

'Orange - Citrus Aurantium - A warm, cheering oil. Good for those suffering from lack of energy and depression.' - an excerpt from Aromatherapy A Guide For Home Use. by Christine Westwood.
